hi any help ? what can we plant around our boundry fence ? its the steel type with spikes on top atleast 12 ft high yet they managed to pull some steel corrugated sheets through last night had to retrieve them from the other end of the football field this morn  >:(  , somthing that would be hard for them to see through and would take over the fence densly  :D

How about blackthorn, they have evil spikes and can be controlled as a hedge or let grow to tree. If you want to pick the sloes don't do what we did, we planted them very close so you need a suit of armour to try and get the berries, it's dense though

Mine need regular haircuts so yes but I suppose that depends on soil, location etc etc

ye russian vine i planted a cutting of that once in my old garden that took over the fence  :D didnt need to paint it as i couldnt find it again  :D thanks tony

Rosa rugosa is cheap, pretty, grows well even in poor soil but, best of all, it has little hairy thorns that stick in your skin!!
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

I've just bought taller rugosa roses to plant along my property line and some of the varieties have vicious thorns, just what I wanted to discourage trespassers. They'll propagate easily too so you can spread the wealth  :D
