grape vine cuttings from last year
« on: April 30, 2013, 14:11 »
while pruning my grape vine last year, i kept some healthy cuttings and buried them in soil (4 buds cutting, 3 buds in soil 1 left above ground ), now quite alot of them showing growing bud, but when i dug up a couple of them, ican not see any roots.

so when will they grow roots?  thanks

Usually with hardwood cuttings like you have done, you would wait a year before transplanting.  I would leave them until this autumn.

Not sure if it is normal for cuttings like this to grow leaves before roots.  Never dug one up early to check tbh  :)
