strawberry stacking pots

That's it, go on, blame me!

They do need a lot of watering, even with water retaining gel, and I too didn't get as many strawberries as I did last year.  But when you think how small each pot is, plus in my tall tower of last year I only replaced some of the old compost, I think I will take them out of the tower and put them in the greenhouse border or somewhere over winter, then replant the tower early spring, maybe with a drip system.

Mine are easy to turn with the Wilko pot mover thingy.

I also had a poundland tower and did the gel and turning thing - we got very little fruit off them - so what's the best method of maintaining them over winter - leave them in the tower and just keep moist or cover in straw?
