Anyone considering planting jerusalem artichokes.

Don't do it !

I've been trying to get rid of them for 5 seasons now. This lot was removed today from one plant that was hiding in the raspberry bed.  >:( They fill a 50Ltr trug.

I tried some last year. Never again. I know that they are described as having an "aquired" taste, but it was like eating dead slugs. No Ta!  :)

Nope they will not be coming anywhere near my plot.

The guy just up from me still digging them up and i swear he is cursing every fork full.

Lardman, we have just dug out a similar quantity from three square feet of ground at the end of one of our raised beds  :ohmy: :ohmy: :ohmy: :ohmy:

What on earth possessed me to plant them I do not know --- fond ideas of soup I guess.

I had ideas of roasting and chipping them and of course hearty winter soups.
