Does anyone or has anyone heard of misting / spraying seed potatoes that are being chatted, I am sure I have read of a dilute tomorite solution being sprayed on them ?

Even seed potatoes chitted in less than ideal conditions don't need spraying with anything, and will potentially cause them to develop mould or rot - think of chitting as a way of giving them a bit of a head start when you plant them (and also keeping them in good condition for possibly the 3 months since you bought them!)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Joy Larkcom no less suggests spraying with a seaweed solution every 10 days once sprouting starts.  I did it once but cannot say it made a difference.

No point in feeding them if you can't plant them out yet. Save the feed for when they're in the ground.

When chitted nicely, after a while the stumpy shoots will throw out small air roots, then is the time to spray with seaweed solution or maxi crop. Not before.
