... on any more plots, although they're available...

Dear old chum's next door is now empty, and Mrs Growster has totally fobidden me to take it on, because we already have one and a half patches ;0(

I want to do a blackcurrant forest and a raspberry fantasia, but no, she says I can't and I really am cross...

Mind you, she's right...

:0)

But oh so tempting to take it on

Oh, blimey, KC, the plot's there for the taking,(unless the family claim it), and I know just where the bodies are buried...

He was a dear old chum, and we were laughing about all the things he was doing there until only recently, Bless his heart!

But knowing our pathetic parish council, it will be left to go to seed in the time honoured way, and we'll all lose out!

That's really my point, but Mrs G is right to say that we musn't take on another one - it's crazy really...

Yes I will.

Turn it into a pea bed.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Can you not give up the 1/2 plot and take on the full one? not too much more and you could give the extra over to your fruit.

Turn it into a pea bed.

I wondered about that, DD.

He had two sheds as well, and one of them was there when we 'plotted', back in 1987...

I really will be up against a brick wall on this one, as, let's face it, two and a half plots is just not feasible, especially as we don't have a rotovator!

Hmmmm....

If there was going to be someone who put a big spanner in my works, it just had to be you Lils!

I hadn't even thought about that, but now, I'm in utter turmoil, and may well need to go and lie down in a darkened room...;0()

We're no spring chickens, and are planning on - say - the next ten years when we 'drop' a half plot (from three) over time, and eventually finish up with exactly what we want, with fruit, leeks etc.

I actually want to take over all the empty plots, (would you believe about five!) but Mrs Growster has beaten me into the ground on that perspective...

Nope, Thestens!

We suffer from severe ambivalence where 'patches' are concerned.

Not a happy situation, but if you move down here, I'll make sure you have the best plot available!

Promise!

I have to confess I am not on a patch where there are lots of allotmenteers. Mine is a single plot next to the beer garden of a pub. I supply the pub restaurant with a few bits and pieces and they let me have the plot for free. If I were truthful I wouldn't mind taking over a bit of the beer garden for fruit but I doubt that will happen. Also its great to be able to say to my wife I am just going to light the green house heater/check the peas/water the toms and have a pint(or two).
