How many toms to fill greenhouse?
« on: April 19, 2012, 21:45 »
This is the first year we have had the 12x8 greenhouse. I had planned in my head while all the plants were growing away, where i was going to plant the toms. We have a smaller greenhouse for cues, peppers etc so the big one is solely for toms (and a couple of melons). I envisioned having three growbagsdown each side, three down the middle, and two across the back wall which are for a couple of melons. Two tom plants in each using a type of ring culture type set up. I have now taken all the staging down and have the toms planted out. This means 18 tom plants and 2 melons. Is this going to be overcrowded? How does anyone with a similar size fill theirs?

I,ve got 2 8x6 greenhouses and easily put 9 plants in one of them so 18 in yours shoudn't be a problem as long as you have room to walk around them all without tripping up
