Growing in containers if I give up lottie!!!

I grow all my veg in containers and raised beds just outside the front door. What I love is the ability to have a quick potter rather than have to make a trip to some where else (allotment).

When my husband is cooking and he asks 'have we got any * yet?' I can simply pop out and have a look.

I have often wondered about applying for an allotment but then think about all the travelling time and effort when I could be potting up a few more salad leaves whilst having a nice glass of wine 

The only thing that I miss out on though is the company of other allotment growers; that must be fun.

One essential for container growing is a good compost heap to give you a ready supply to fill up all those pots otherwise it can get expensive!
