I did ring the council and told them my problem, she told me she want sure what they could do. But I should wait till later in the season when I've planted crops and if they get bitten keep some and ring them so they could see it.  I don't know if I had the right to say it was they responsibility as I might have spoken in error.  :(

Dig it!!!! ♥♥ :)

If it's council owned, then yes. The landowner is responsible for pest control, unless your lease qualifies otherwise. Ours do come out and sort the rats. We have no rabbits. To a lot of people's disappointment, shall I say?

I'm after rabbit meat, so I'm told by several guys in the hunting and related trades, none to be had around here.

So, if your council does not help, this could be easier than arguing with them. That's why I mentioned, some are desparate for rabbits, for feeding, training purposes.

I do not know, how much the fencing costs the others mentioned.

THanks Gobs, I'll ask around at the site are if anyone else had the same issues and see how they got it sorted. Will have to start investigating how to fence economically and effectively.
I can't say that I have eaten rabbit before but I know my DH mouths waters whenever any chefs on Tele cooks it.  So maybe he will be keen to dig around and see what he finds.

It would be impossible for me to fence against rabbits so I dilute jeyes fluid with water, in a washing up liquid bottle, and squirt it around the perimeter of the veg plot. They hate it! Also the cat helps during the summer.
