coughing bird
« on: January 04, 2012, 19:34 »
Bought 5 hens at auction, really wish I hadn't. All 5 were POL and coughed and loose poos. I were even more stupid and after a couple of weeks put them with the others who are a bit old to lay. 3 of the new ones died over the next few months, but the other 2 were putting on weight. My 2 are fine, one of the new ones has just started laying ( a few were soft shelled, but now are fine), the last one coughs a bit and still has loose poos even after several months. All the girls eat and drink well. Help.

I use verm x monthly, but will get some flubenvet, but the girls are not gaping and only one of them coughs. I would like to get Poppy, my ever broody bantam, some eggs to hatch but concerened I might have a bigger problem and would hate to see chicks die.
