Grrrr BLIGHT.
« on: August 15, 2011, 10:46 »
I hate blight  >:(  It is horrible and kills all my tomatoes which is very very mean   Most things I can live with but blight???

Anyhow, if you hadn't of guessed my tomatoes have all got blight  :(  The ones at the allotment and the ones in tubs at home also are beginning to show signs.  :(  I've bagged up the ones at the allotment and need to deal with the ones at home tonight

It's such a shame as the tomatoes which we have had have been really tasty compared to last years attempt!  But this summer has been just the weather for it... wet, cloudy, cold and windy!

I still have the ones in the greenhouse but not holding out all that much hope  :(

couldn't you pick the ones in the greenhouse even if green, before the blight gets them? You can ripen them indoors or even make green tomato chutney.
Staffies are softer than you think.

You're sure its blight and not botrytis or others?  :(  There isn't any reported blight very near you..... You could post pics for confirmation.

We had a blight warning yesterday, and I only saw it this morning!

Spraying is difficult when you've got all your fingers crossed...

I'm so sorry your crop is affected,, we've been there before, and will be outside all the time now, hoping it's gone away...

Most definitly blight (I think  ;) )... stems gone black, leaves with black bits in the centre and yellow round the outside... fruit has started to fall of and has gone black/ brown :(  the ones at the allotment were practically dead i'll take some pics of the ones in the garden tho.

Blight has struck our outdoor tomatoes overnight  :( :( :( :(

I have carefully removed all the undmaged green fruit and washed them. Hope to make Prakash's green tomato dhall later.

Took all the debris to the central allotment waste point for disposal.

UH-oh Sunny, just down the road from you. I'm going away next week, so will definitely spray before I go as toms are just about the right size now, just need to ripen.
Hope you manage to salvage some, made dahl yesterday, but never used green toms in it.

I  cut off all the leaves leaving just the fruit and then sprayed them, just hope they ripen.
