Seems like they either love them or hate them.  Mine won't touch them either.  ::)

Mine eat small/medium slugs and any size snails.
I think the large slugs are too big, tough and produce too much slime for them (but at least they're easier to spot when I slug hunt at night.)
So hilarious watching them wipe their beaks on the grass if they get "gummed up"!

Mine won't touch slugs but will happily smash a snail to pieces and eat it, I would have thought they tasted the same  ...

I think the "gummed up" thing is the key.  Snails use their shells as protection, but slugs give off a really vile, sticky slime when they are threatened.  Nasty stuff!

My pullets went wild for slugs when I first got them at the  end of summer, but sine then they have definitely gone off them.  I can call them over and show them a slug and they show no interest at all (previously they would have mauled me for it).

I'm interested to see whether they regain their taste for slugs as the seasons change, or if they have decided to abstain permanently.

It all sounds so gruesome  mice, frogs, wasps, slugs and snails. At 8 in the morning my porridge is sort of sitting in my belly very uncomfortably.  ::)

I've given them small ones too, but still they didn't go for them, atm all the slugs I've seen round the run have been large cream coloured ones, really horrible, not surprised they don't eat them.
