What may seem a silly query but are eglus Collapsible?  One main reason we never went down the eglu route originaly was access to the garden in our old house was through a narrow, roofed brick alley and the wooden coop we got came flat packed, do eglus?

Have a look on their site,  I think it shows how the go together.  They are helpful on the phone too.

My Go came flat packed.  Box was maybe as wide as an A4 sheet of paper?  Individial piece, tickest maybe 2 or three inches?

Not sure about the others, never looked at them in pieces.
My Eglu cube was brought through the house in easily managed pieces and assembled on site in the back garden.

I'd like to recommend (if I'm allowed to?) the Green Frog Designs' coops as they're recycled plastic. I'm new to this game but after quite a bit of research was convinced by the red mite protection and the ease of cleaning. I also prefer the looks to the Eglu but obviously it's personal taste. They are expensive but I'm looking at this as a long term venture and the suggestion is that they will last 20 years. From what I've seen the resale value of plastic coops is pretty high too so should you need to sell it your not losing that much.

Apart from the red mite issue there is also no need to treat it with wood preservative or diatomaceous (sp??) earth saving you money in the longer term and the faff and time of treatments. Lynch pins allow you to remove the roof or back in seconds for cleaning or access to the hens.

I've got the large chicken lodge in a home made walk in run and love it. Flat packs in 5 mins according to the blurb though I've not had to try it yet.

Eglus are double skinned to give the best thermal insulation of any hen coop.  Cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

Just show him the cost of good red mite treatment for a wooden coop against no cost at all for plastic

I went plastic after a red mite infestation.  I've a shiny purple cube with a 2m run which they are locked in at night.  By day they've a massive run they can tear about in.  I'd never go back to wood.  One thing, when I bought the cube, we initially looked on Ebay as they are expensive.  Some of the ones on Ebay are the mark 1 models where they hadn't ironed out all the issues, and some still had redmite.  I think ours is a mark 4, and not a creepy crawlie to be seen.
