Hi

I have three hybrids a brown an amber and a speckledy. I have a 2m x 2m part and then a 2m x 1m attached to the coop so think thats 6 sq meters. They get to free range a little bit but majority of time spent in the run.

I would love to get a few more but was unsure if I had enough space for that and if so how many. Any advice on other hybrid breeds?

Sorry about the questions some stupid but don't want to be cruel and cram them in. Happy to be told Ive got enough so wont be offended.

I am sure others with a better memory will quote you recommended space (I cant remember) but I think DEFRA suggest an amount per bird, so look on their site?

Personally I bought a coop and run which was big enough for six, my three girls looked so cramped I ended up using an electric fence to let them free range.  The more spac eyou give them the happier they will be!

I understand that the Defra mnimum is 1 sq metre per bird, but the recommendation on here seems to be for 2 sq m per bird.  So your 6 sq m is adequate for 3 chickens. 

However, as Daisy said, the more space they have, the happier they'll be.

Space isnt an absolute though, if your run is moved every week or so, so the always have a supply of grass and creepy crawlies, they'll be happier than with a larger but bare run.
My run will be 2.2x2.4 and for four chickens, but I intend to move it weekly too.
