I think you're being rather paranoid Andy  :(

With all due respect, if you'd had the health scares which I have, you'd be paranoid too.
!0 years ago, I was given less than three months to live.
I like living, and I like trying to eat as healthily as possible, thank you very much.

I use the strong big cardboard  boxes they let you take from T**co  they are about t6ins deep. They stack really well and take plenty of spuds it makes it easier to check for rotting ones later in storage as you just lift off  each box. I stack them in the corner of my shed with old newpapers wedged down the sides to keep any frost out.  I separate my spuds out in sizes and write on the box baking, roast, small or use first these have holes :D  and I know that sounds far too organised but it helps OH know what spuds are for what meal :nowink:

Would hessian sand bags be big enough? Our local army surplus store sells them for 99p each or less, depending on how many you buy:

Go along to your local chippy and ask if they can save you their paper sacks.  We get ours free :D

These, I assume, are the boxes said supermarket receives and displays its fruit and veg in. Are they not as likely to be as contaminated with pesticides as the potato sack previously mentioned?
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Try your local pet shop. Peanuts usually come in large hessian sacks.
