A few of my PSB plants have gone soggy half way up the stalk, i think it was a mixture of strong winds then hard frost with snow.

On the plus side the pigeon haven`t touched it as they are too busy raiding the bird table and chook food bowl.

same here - PSB looks rather small still but only a couple have leaves missing (escapee chooks) the rest are ok.  Our main thieves are collared doves, but they prefer the chooks corn and pellets!
1 lovely hubby, 3 dogs, a bunny and 7 ex batts and a shiny new lottie!  (so far)

For info I started this thread. I didn't need the space so left the stumps and they sprouted and hey presto have had a feed today and looks like loads more forming. Probably 8out of 10 plants now producing
Just needed a little faith!!!!! :D

Mine did not produce enough florets to feed a pigeon , but the chooks enjoyed the leaves.
Planted the new batch this morning without great expectations.

We have only just pulled up our last plant, the rest were actually edible!  Didn't eat the last one in time and it flowered, very pretty and much appreciated by the bees - until it ended up as chook feed.  All things considered it was well worth waiting for!
