Can anyone tell me what they feed their garlic with please? I mixed in growmore when I planted them and have used tomato feed a couple of times. Is this okay or should I be using something else? Would FBB be okay sprinkled on top and lightly worked in? Thanks for any tips!!

Never fed garlic and always have great cloves.

Alot of things don't need feeding; if they are in close contact with the soil they get when they need; the further a crop is from the soil the more it needs feeding.

If you have good soil, that is well mulched in the autumn and you don't grow them in the same place year after year then root veg won't need any extra nutrients as there is enough trace phosphorus for them.

Thanks for the reply. I did leave out one vital fact. They are in containers of MP compost, have been since 7th February!!

They will be fine then.

If they grow in sand with no fertiliser they will grow in MPC.

If you feed them tomato feed they will grow some lovely flowers for you.

If you put BFB in, you'll get great foliage.

But garlic doesn't want either - so leave them be.
