Kzaba, let us know how they get on - how about some photos?  :)

Dizzie, I told you last year... no ducks!!!  ::) :D

I saw my mate last night who said he would happily get me some Silver Dutch Bantams, but advised against them going in with my other girls. He said the cock would probably hold his own but the hens fall over if there's a stiff breeze...  :(

I can't build TWO runs.  ::)

So I might get a pair of Speckeldy whatchamathingies...

not going too well yet. the chickens are hapy to look at him during the day, will let him sleep in the coop at night, but any chance they get to have a go at him they take and he just wants to sit in the coop all day. Will keep going for bit longer, it might be easier when the weather picks up again and they are feeling warmer?

It my be time to take the ring leader out for a week. There will be scuffles between the other 3. Personally i would let the other3 fre range if you can and keep the bully lockedin the run for a week. This will take away her place in the pecking order

Good News, I hope.
We tried a bit of reverse action. First we tried to take out the ring leader, but the other two went for him, then we took out the middle hen but the last one still went for him. So then we took all three hens away, leaving him in the big run and them stuck in the smaller one loooking at him.
 last night we let them out again and got in there with them and pushed them away from him. he still went to bed early but no damage done. when i looked in at bed time he and 2 girls were cramped together in a corner and this morning he came out into the run with them of his own free will.

BETTER still the girls are ignoring him. So could be we have solved problem! A bit like children its not the victim but the bully who needs sorting :dry:

ps tried to post pictures, but says not approved by them at the minute

everything still going well. But got in touch with supplier as had a problem with one of the hens, and we finally got an age for him.
 No wonder he didn't know what to do, he's only 6 months old, and there he was suddenly face by three ex bat bully girls, all three times his age and size!
 He still stays clear of them but at least they are all together.
