Peat pots going mouldy?
« on: June 01, 2007, 14:16 »
Is anyone else having problems with their peat pots going mouldy?

I planted some borlotti fire tongue about a week ago and the pots are now furry  I'm not watering them excessively or anything like that.

Yes - topic discussed recently, as a quick search would have shown.

    ... more helpfully ... http://www.chat.allotment-garden.org/viewtopic.php?t=3874 is the thread concerned yummy

If you are interested, the Search tool is useful once you've mastered a few techniques ... fill in the search fields as described but do post again if you can't find the answers you need (or even if you just feel like posting again  :D )

Search for Keywords: peat pot*
Choose Search for all terms
Display results as: Posts
Return first: all available characters of posts

And don't think that this reply kills the thread, there are always new members, new Q&A plus hands-on experiences to relate.

Most def aint there WG, I have my lettuce in them at the mo, was given a load so thought I may as well use, the way I get around the mouldy bit is to put them a plastic tray that the bedding plants have come in, once wet they swell to fit the cell and no air is on the outside so they dont go mouldy.
