Hoe or weedkiller. Or if you have one rotovate it in a few times over a week or two.
You'll have to keep on top of it whatever you do as new weed seeds will germinate as you cultivate the soil.

you can eat it raw and if you've got any guinea pigs/rabbits you can feed it to them  :)  not forgetting chickens love it

Chickweed. Could that be why it is named so? :)

Just dig it in as you would a green manure, a couple of allotmenteers i know leave any new growh that does not crowd the veg plants saying chickweed stops the soil drying out.

It`s easy to pull out when needed for the hens, their favorite greenstuff. :)

Chickweed sounds like a healthy low-calorie snack for girlies to eat whilst reading their chick-lit (less calories than chock-lit!)

Hoeing will eventually get rid of it but be vigilant as it can seed itself while your back is turned!
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

I don't know if it was called chickweed because chickens love it, but it is the first greenstuff our chicks have given to them!   :D :D

Loads of goodness in it.  Don't waste it!!!   :D :D

Rotovate?? Good grief!

Why ?
makes me smile rotavation is a tried an tested way of weed control, it's really only the sterile seed bed method on a larger scale. If you have one why not put it to use ?

Good afternoon all, I use an organic cream called chickweed and calendula cream, it is great for skin irritations, spots grazes etc., it is also ok to use on pets.  Chickweed is also known as "Stellaria Media" it comes from the latin Stella "star". The stuff that grows on my lotty I feed to my pigeons they love it.  I hoe mine out.
