So that's about 3 x 17 yards.  Hmm.

I assume you've no clubroot problems - these would rule out kale & mustard immediately really.

I'd ignore eggplant / aubergine as that's really a hotter situation plant e.g. greenhouse or sunny back yard.

Rhubarb, chard and lettuce will be fine in shade.

All the others are viable but bear in mind that the yield you get from onions, and shallots to a certain extent, is relatively low unless you've got quite a few of them.

I personally grow tomatoes in pots in my sunny back yard, where I can water them more regularly and keep an eye on them (also less susceptible to blight as not on the site).

If you choose to rotate crops (always advised) then I would ensure that no more than 1/3 of the strip is taken up by each family of veg - spuds and toms are one family, chives onions shallots another, mustard and kale another.  Corn bbeans saled and rhubarb can fit in anywhere really.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

i dont understand this sentence but im guessing its a typo? im not aware of any club root problems. i guess i will have to just try and see.

if it was a typo i will be growing kale, mustard, chard and rhubarb and possibly chives. which is enough to cover that area. then potatoes sweetcorn and tomato and onions mainly in the area thats left. with chives sprinkled here and there

No, it wasn't a typo but I should have explained myself better, sorry  :)

Club root is a disease which affects brassicas and prevents them growing well.

Kale and mustard are in the Brassicas family and will therefore be affected by clubroot if you have it in the soil.

i dont think theres a history of clubroot. only bindweed and comfrey had been growing there in the last year or so.
