i have nine chickens and on a night they all go in well but one. it is up at least an hour after the others. when i go to shut them in it can be coaxed towards the hutch but my concern is i am thinking of getting an automatic opener/ closer and am concerned it will be locked out. It is quite high up in the pecking order and i think it is also responsible for feather pecking other hens so i dont think it is being bullied any suggestions?

Hens will stay up later and later depending on the daylight hours so this is not unusual.  You may not be able to use an auto door until routine is established.  Time will tell.
