Will any members have a few Ixworth hatching eggs that I can have next year ? A couple of hens would be even better, but I realise that would be really pushing my luck. :D

We ate one of our Light Sussex cocks for dinner yesterday and he was really flavoursome :thumright: I've been thinking that it might be worth trying an experiment and running a couple of Ixworth females with the Sussex in the hope of producing an improved meatbird.
Ideally, the Ixworths would lay a different egg colour from the Sussex so that i could pick them out. :thumright:

Hi there, I noticed some Ixworth hatching eggs on ebay last season, I thought they sounded a really good breed for meat, although I only had limited sucess with my ebay hatching, traveling through the postage system isn't helpful when it comes to hatching rates, so it may prove to be an expensive option.
would have been enough for a crumble!
