Amazing stuff apparently !!

Just managed to get hold of a 10 kg tub of this new wonderous stuff called Nutrimate.

It's organic,natural,safe,etc,etc.

5kg of it has the same amount of Humus, humic and fulvic acid as 1 tonne of well rotted farmyard manure.

Apparently it almost doubles the size of anything you grow as it increases the volume of roots enormously.

Apparently it's been used by Irish potato growers but it made the potatoes so big the supermarkets rejected them.

A friend of an old guy I know used it on his veg plot last year and said that he was amazed at the vigour and size of everything.

Well I can't wait to give it a try next year and see if it really is as amazing as they say. :)

Sounds good, not new though. Medwyn Williams was using it in 2004.

I used Nutrimate for the first time this year.  I carefully marked the one half of my tomatoes (In the greenhouse border) that had been dosed and kept careful note of their progress. I did not see any difference to those that did not get any.  I certainly use manure very liberally and this year had the biggest crop of tomatoes that I have ever grown so much so that there were lots of trusses breaking. Having said that,  the crop has been very very slow in ripening and I have still almost a third of the crop hopefully ripening on the sad late season plants. I also used the Nutrimate in my mixture for my 60 potato bags, again no noticable effect in what was a poor cropping year.  I have tried but won't be bothering again.

As you say you add plenty of manure etc It probably won't have had such an effect with you as you will have a good amount of humus in there anyway and any more won't make much difference.

I've not added much muck to my polytunnel beds for a few years (until this year ironically) so I'm going to give it a go.

I think it will benefit soil that hasn't had any muck added for a while more so than someone who regularly adds muck.

I've got a few little lettuce growing now outside and my leeks so I'm going to give half of each a dose of the stuff and see if it makes any difference.

Who knows ?
