I was googling around looking for some info on cukes, and found this photo - what can only be described as a cucumber plantation !

On a side note of watering, the poster has a really good way of doing it- he's got 3 inch pots in the ground which the poster waters through, thus avoiding the water touching the stems and going straight to the roots.

I use pots in the ground for watering courgettes, marrow, squash, etc.   Gets water and feed right to where it is needed - the roots.

You can also use 2L soda bottles with the bottoms cut off and stuck upside down in the soil (neck end down).

Amazing! My cucumbers have lots of little baby fruits on them, and I read that the plants like to have trellis to scramble up, so at last I find a use for the old trellis I took out when I extended the kitchen garden. Tomorrow my cucumbers will be able to scramble!
