tastes like a lemony potato you can bake or roast or eat raw the leaves are nice in salads too.

you keep back what you need and replant for next year so you only but them once.

Just purchased some from Realseeds, got a mixed bunch to see what they are like. They sound interesting. Did't realise you could eat the leaves as well. Thanks for the tip.

I doubt you would have a problem its a lot smaller than artichokes.

A few of mine are putting out some healthy spruts now.  A phased potting shall commence this week I think!   :)

Auntymogs, I bought some oca from realseeds. They are not doing anything sprouting wise just yet. Should I wait til the sprout before planting out, or just plant regardless?

I tend to leave mine as they have such a long growing season and I wouldn't have a frost free space for them if I potted them all up now Nice.  I pot them into 3" pots and keep them on the windowsill and re-pot when necessary until it's warm enough for them to go out (which will be a good while yet).  ::)

Mine are on my windowsill to chit but I'm only going to start potting those with healthy spruts on this week.   It just gives them a bit of a head start and I've got space indoors for them at the moment. :)
