black treacle

some-one once mentioned applying some black treacle to a board fastened to a stick and positioned amidst your brassicas to attract flea beatles (I think). Well that idea didn't work for me, but a large spoonful placed in a container with a drop of water added, seems to be attracting slugs and snails like beer once did. They appear to be queueing up for it! The stronger the goo the better as they can't seem to get out. The birds get a feast in the morning  :D

I have only just started veg growing but have used nematoads for slugs ever since I planted my first seeds and have had no slug damage at all, in fact I have only ever seen one slug under the apple tree, very small and looked very lonely
Clueless but learning
