Broccoli and lettuce Flowering

Broccoli and lettuce Flowering

Hi i planted my broc early spring and the green heads have formed but now they are flowering. can they still be eaten or am i too late and the plants life is over now?

as you can tell i am very new to this.

my lettice is also starting to flower, and ideas on what lettuce i could still plant now?

sorry to say theyve bolted  hot weather and not enough water will do it still its not to late to get some more in try cut and come again lettuce leaves or rocket ,spinach types oh even little gems ,lovely

The same thing has happened to me with my brocollis bolted . They were planted too early.

Any idea where I can get some more brocolli plants? I've tried the local garden centre/nurseries to no avail.

Think it too late to try start growing from seeds this yer - is it?

try going some from seed what have you got to lose

Oops - I actually meant my brussel sprouts have bolted not brocolli.

we all make mistakes try some from seed anyway ,perhaps try the dwarf brussels like noisette they might grow quicker
