After an unfortunately incident on friday last week, i decided to buy two Jerusalem Artichoke plants and a horseradish plant.  Both plants also treats for the guards-cats, who for some reason love horseradish sauce on chips.
Cost me an arm and leg as well couldn't believe it £2.98 for horseradish!  :?

Both of them are in containers so hopefully they'll produce food for the coming winter.

Yes gloomy thinking but after the cold hail during July / August in Middlesbrough last year i'm determined to produce something.

If anyone has any advice regarding these two veggies i would be extremely grateful. As i have never grown them before and i got them on a passing whim.

Jerusalem Artichoke will do better in the ground.  Like spuds, leave any behind and they keep coming up.  Treat as a permanent crop (ie no crop rotation).

Horseradish?  Treat like mint and keep in constrained in a pot.
