My home office desk overlooks runners frame (I know bliss. I have seen them grow every inch  )
Since morning the pesky sparrow are picking all the flowers from the vine. Will is affect the bean production?
Part of me going awww... and the other part going

I seem to be feeding half the population of Sheffield's sparrows, and the thanks I get is them pecking off the growing tips, and yes, when they start flowering they'll start pecking at them too! 

Not had to do it for a few years, but have just re-introduced my black netting anti-sparrow covering (it hangs from canes arranged so it's about six inches away from, and parallel with, the strings of my Munty frame (that way I can still get underneath to pick the beans, and potentially remove the netting if my feathered friends move on...)
