What plant is this?
« on: September 06, 2016, 11:44 »
Can anyone identify what plan this is? We've just moved to a new house and a few of these are growing in the garden.  My two year old took a liking to the berries!   He seems ok, but want to know if I should rip them up to stop him snaffling them as he plays around!  Dont want him to be poisoned by anything!

I knew getting him to pick his own raspberries would lead to him having a go at other berries!!

The Hypericum androsaemum it's not classed as deadly poisonous, but like many herbal remedies, it's best not to eat the berries

Perfect. Thanks for identifying.  I think I'll dig them up and donate them to someone without curious children!!  Better safe than sorry.
