Why has my rhubarb go on like this

From now on the leaves gradually get worse and start to die back, nothing to worry about. Some of the leaves of mine are still good and some look like yours.

I agree...I'm starting to have to compost some sorry looking thinner rhubarb stalks, just too much to harvest it all and use.  The thicker ones standing upright are my focus.  My known varieties, stockbridge arrow, rivers red are great. The unknown ones need a division next yr! I've also got six Victoria seedlings to find homes in the allotments. I've fourteen crowns at the moment!

When should I divide them?

Any time during the early winter, is good, once it's January-ish some of them start regrowing.

Some of the old-timers here insist on leaving them on the surface to face a frost before replanting. Not sure of the rationale, but it works for them
