just wondering how poisonous rhubarb leaves really are.we are thinking of planting it but have heard that the leaves are poisonous.obviously dont want to take a risk with little ones but if you have to consume your own body weight in leaves to feel a bit unwell then i'll get one

I think the leaves are quite bitter so baba probably wouldn't want to swallow!  I'm not expert though, so maybe someone else will say different.

dont panic . you would need to eat about 150 lbs to do any harm to yourselves .

 oh and just one point never eat stalks from frost bitten stalks the compounds are broken down and can may ya puke
