twin stem tomatoes in the green house
« on: April 19, 2016, 15:40 »
I saw Big Bob Floweredew on a youtube video yesterday.  He was advocating letting the main stem and a single side shoot of indeterminate tomatoes grow so that each plant has two stems. He then pruned off all the other side shoots from both stems in the normal way.  This he said keeps the overall height down and keeps the yields up.  The advantage in the greenhouse being that they don't get to the top of the greenhouse and then bend over in a horrible mess.  Seemed like a cracking idea to me.  So I think I'll give it a go.  Has anyone else tried this method?
