I've got really goods carrots too this year, but not with Early Nantes.  They didn't do very well but the autumn King have.  I have also grown mine in a enviro mesh pen this year to stop the carrot fly for the first time with great success.  In actual fact I may have too many  :D for the first time ever.

I planted my Autumn King in August and the roots are still quite small. Lots of foliage. Was I a bit late in planting and do I still stand a chance of them developing into a decent size?

Pulled mine last night, they were not quite as big as yours (said the actress to the Bishop) but i will be able to enjoy a few meals using my home grown carrots.
