One of my chickens has laid an enormous egg three times the usual size. I've seen big ones before but this takes the prize. I'd prefer they didn't lay these monsters as I believe it can lead to problems such as prolapses - luckily not in this case.

Have you tales or enormous eggs? This one is 140 grams 7 inches (17.78cm) in circumference and 3 1/2 inches (8.89cm) long. So far I haven't opened it so I don't know how many yolks yet I'm guessing it must be a double.

You can sometimes get an egg within an egg so make sure you take some photos of before and after opening.

They can often lay an enormous egg when they first start laying and are still 'practising' especially hybrids

Wow - 140g, that's massive! My Colombian Blacktail laid a couple of 102g eggs last week & I though they were big, (they had double yolks). Your poor chicken!
