I have space in a large raised bed after the sad demise of my asparagus    I  was thinking about sewing some parsnip seeds.

 It is late but is it too late?

On a seed packet I recently looked at it said sow February to April, so I would guess you are too late. Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Strictly speaking you are too late for sowing parsnips as they need a long growing period but you could use half of the area to grow some - they might not grow very big but you might just get some tasty snips.  The rest of the area could be  used for other winter crops or even fast growing salad crops.

Yeah too late if you want a good size, but you may still get something about 1cm-1inch thick?
