Looking snug but not for long!!
« on: May 18, 2013, 09:30 »
Morning all, hope everyone is well? Over the last week, i have had 4 instances where i've found a couple of strawberry leaves turned over on themselves, on closer looking, there was a caterpillar in each folded one, with what looked like a web in with it, any idea's if it is a pest just with strawbs or is it more likely a common pest just liking my strawbs at the moment? Thanks
It's like a jungle sometimes, it makes me wonder how i keep from going under......

It could be the caterpillar of the strawberry tortrix moth, but I get tiny green caterpillars wrapped up in the leaves of all sorts of plants in my garden. I'm not sure whether they eat the fruit as well. I sometimes see tiny brown moths which I think are the parents.
