Well I picked up 3 little pekins yesterday.  On the right is Poppy, on the left is Primrose and at the back Snowdrop.  I think she said Snowdrop is about 12 weeks old and the others a couple of weeks younger.

They are really really friendly!  I've ony had hybrids before, which do become friendly but it takes time as before brining them home they aren't really used to human contact etc...

Sorry for the poor quality photo it is a rather heavy crop from my phone (they run towards you when you get close to them which isn't helpful when taking photos  )

I don't know how relevant this is, but because the topic says " Where do people buy their chickens from? " I buy mine from an auction in penkridge west Midlands/south Staffordshire, well not often, I buy the eggs and hatch them my self, (not allowed to keep cocks so cant produce my own YET, looking for land!)

Just read thread and would also say that Frank and co at The Barns are brill for advice and help and have been there several times and couldn't fault them even though I have asked for help without even buying anything.  His talks are quite entertaining and are free too, with lovely cakes with coffee .

For anyone in the northwest I got mine at Chickens Galore near the Cheshire border and they have been very healthy, good layers, And I thought the prices were fair too.

I live in cheshire and got my four girls from Cheshire chickens they are very competivley priced and he also supplies all the pellets,drinkers,feeders corn and everythnig else all at very good prices. I get all my feed and everthing from him.
