I do all sorts of daft things but I think I always will  :D

I have just planted my onions, shallot and garlic in a pattern but I ran out of garlic and had to wait for some more.  I got the new stuff and went off to the plot to carry on planting to complete the job.  I'd buried all the evidence of my pattern though. Doh  :wacko:

Now's the dilemma, do I guess and risk digging up what I've planted or wait and see what comes up so I can carry on ?  :nowink:

I like planting stuff in patterns as I hate old person rows.  It's fraught though  :lol:

I must admit, I also used netting for my peas this year as I had some old netting from Poundland in the shed.  When I got fed up unravelling, I just threw the whole lot - netting, plants and all into the compost heap for the plant material to rot down and then I will haul it out and bin the netting at the end!  Thank goodness it wasn't expensive netting - I won't be repeating this episode either!!

One of my biggest failings has always been to leave too little room between rows! That's stopped now, with individual beds, so perhaps a thought process was derived from all that struggling to reach the carrots and the beetroot and the broad beans etc...

So, it's not just me then! :ohmy: :lol:

H ha haNige!

It's when they're so close together, that you can't hoe without over-balancing, which tends to flatten the rows quite well...;0)

Indeed it does ::) ::) ;)

Old grits like me regularly used hop bine string for all annual stringing jobs, when we had a hop industry that was!

After the several months of holding those precious peas and beans aloft, it gracefully rotted away to a fine dust, and the language never got beyond ITV4...
