Desperately seeking greenhouse plants
« on: July 03, 2012, 15:32 »
Yes, I know it's really late, but I have a customer who has been ill and unable to grow anything this year.  They want to use their greenhouse for, well anything really.  I was hoping to find some (past it) tomato, or cucumber plants, but they are all sold out (unless you know something I don't...).  Also, I think I'll put in some squashes, salads, and any other plants that might work in a greenhouse over the next two or three months.  Any thoughts/advice would be welcome, especially if you know where I can get some tomato plants!!!!  Thanks, Lesley

have you tried looking on your local freecycle or freegle group - ours often have people offering their excess plants especially tomatoes  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.

well we have got loads left at the local gardening society - but i think it may be a tad far for you to come. Have you tried your local allotment society hut?

Thanks for all your help.  Around here allotments are not common, but I've posted a "wanted" on the local forum and we do have a community garden, so I'll try there too.

think I might also be too far from you - but, if not, we've got a spare cucumber needing a home.  Just got a very neglected homeless and pot bound gardners delight heading to the compost bin tomorrow.  Off loaded all the healthy spares last week.  Happy to give you a healthy and happy gartenpearl or 100's& 1000's to help you out - but, we're probably miles away from you to make it worthwhile :(

Would they post?  Seems a silly idea but I'm not planning to go to central belt for a while.  Tempting, though.  Thanks.

I wouldn't know how to post a cucumber plant - and have it arrive alive ..... I struggle to keep them from dying when they are stationary and mollycoddled
Good offer from lochnesslass if that's any nearer  :) hope something turns up locally
