Is it common for chickens to change colour?!

I have a mature Black Rock, who was formerly all black apart from a few red flecks on her breast. Now she has developed red tips to her wing feathers and startling red patches on her back.

Will post pictures if I can figure out how to get them off OH's phone.

My black rocks/ rhode rocks changed as they matured. The neck and chest feather changed to a ginger colour after a partial moult. They are looking like prize winners
