hi all, i sowed my red & white onion seeds mid jan and they have now got two true leaves on and are about 4-5" tall,when would be the best time to transplant out on the lottytey still look a little bit flimsy,i.m wondering wether to let them get a bit stronger first. :unsure:

Last year was the first time I tried growing onions from seed and they were very slow to grow to planting-out size. I eventually did plant them outside in mid April (still looking more like chives) where they continued to do very little!  ::)

They eventually came good, although I didn't harvest them until October!  :ohmy:

Don't know whether this is typical "behaviour" - others with more experience hopefully will.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older
