Hi
With the brassicas that we've planted so far-we didn't leave the tops on. Should we?

If it's going to be late May/June I might need to start some more sweetcorn off-the cucs are fine and happy in their pots inside but even though the sweetcorn are on the windowsill facing south-they have grown tall but thin and I'm not sure they are getting enough light...? Do you think starting more off would be wise?
Thank you

It all depends on how heavy the frost will be that you'd get this time of year as to whether or not to put tops on the cloche bottles. I find the bits of fleece works very well for the reason I stated and I'm not out there twice a day adjusting them. Due to the bottles smaller size than a row cloche, heat can build up a lot faster.

It's always a good idea to succession plant corn so its not all ripening at the same time. And, you can always replace earlier ones that are struggling or bit the dust.

Thanks very much, might have a go at using fleece on the bottles. They must be keeping some heat in as they've all got condensation. Will also do some succession planting of the sweetcorn.
Thanks very much! :)
