the Crouching chickens
« on: July 28, 2011, 11:24 »
Hi,

just wondered what is meant by the chickens when they seem to crouch and sort of hunch their shoulders/wings. They look very submissive when they do it.
It happens when i try to pet them, not all the time.....but when they do this crouching thing they let me pet or pick them up etc.

Any thoughts ?

they think you are a cockerel so are getting in the mating position ready  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.

Only one of our three do this and that's Ginger the youngest and most tame.   It is very handy as she's easy to pick up then.

The other 2 have to be sort of cornered before we can get a hold of them.

Perhaps you aren't so attractive try a dab of scent behind your ears and a new perm.

Yep i've certainly tried the scent trick until Carole wondered what had happened to her Chanel No5.  It was all part of my scientific experiment to discover what was more effective at repelling harvest flies red mite spray or eau de cologne.  Chanel was more effective than White Linen and I was having some success with Youth Dew until Carole smelt a rat.  Red Mite spray was effective against mozzies for about 15 mins or so then needed a reapplication.  tried it on the girls to to see if the Red Mite would be deterred before I discovered FICAM! :tongue2:

I'm so attractive though that I'm surrounded by an attractiveness event horizon, I'm a sort of charisma blackhole.
