I am just digging some beetroot up to pickle and have noticed that there are some "White" beetroot in with them. The leaves are green . Can anyone tell me what they might be. I have dug them up and they look like beet but White! Also how long can I leave the beet in the ground for? Many thanks.

You can get white beetroot as well as pink, yellow and striped, so it's just mixed up seed

Ah thanks mumofstig. Didn't realise that. Just had a beetroot risotto with some of them.  yum
