Bokashi/Compost
« on: April 07, 2011, 12:14 »
I have just set up a Bokashi fermentation system.  I intend to use the product of this in my compost bin (these are large and very active).  I have done this so that I can use all the fertility that would otherwise not go in my compost bins (meat fish etc etc) and would be chucked out.  I would like to know of others experiences doing this.  My particular questions are does the Bokashi waste in a compost bin;
1. Reduce the activity of the aerobic bacterial in compost
2. Encourage rats as it is a food source
3. Eventually break down and look like regular compost

Any advice on this method gratefully received

Hi,
I'm sorry but I don't have any experience in using Bokashi but would be very interested to hear how you get on.  I've often thought about using it, but with a labrador and a hubbie that I'm sure was a labrador in a previous life we have very little waste!
Please share with us all how you get on
