That's how we hold our birds.  They will usually sit on your hand for ages as they feel comfortable and as they can't get a 'purchase' on your hand with their feet, they just sit and sometimes go to sleep!!

Those poor chickens!  He was man-handling them all over the place.  Didn't leave them much dignity.
