You can tell by the smell!!!
Growing salad leaves isn't rocket science.

ta save the nettle tea blocking up the tap on the water butt  why not do as we do ,

place the nettles in an onion bag then place it in the water butt and replace the lid ,

leave for 2-3 weeks , should be ready for use by then ,

I once set my hubbie the task of stuffing an old pair of stockings with nettles to make some feed.  I'm glad no one walked up the drive and saw what he was doing, it must have looked very odd!
Make sure that you water it down really well when you come to use it as it can burn plants if used when too concentrated.
I use it on my tubs and baskets as well as on tomatoes and cucumbers and anything else that looks like it could do with a boost.  It really is great stuff.

Nettle tea is high in nitrogen so good for leafy crops.

Comfrey tea made the same way is high in potassium so that's the one to use for toms, peppers etc.

From a wormery? Worm poo; or liquid fertiliser.....

I believe it is a general mix which should resemble the nutrients in soil as it is the main way that nutrients get into soil [through worms]....I can find out tomorrow at work if you want to really know....

i used it the other day and haven't been down the garden since, the smell is unbelievable  but it seems good and they grow so abundantly :D
is it better to use comfrey tea or leave the leaves near the base of a plant like john does in his diaries?
