cockerel question
« on: November 18, 2009, 14:52 »
As no one has complained yet and his crow isn't so very loud, I am keeping puff, at the mo!

So what age do they start treading the ladies? and is it ok to have him in with two Buff Orpington banties as well as his two fellow pekin ladies?

Still so much to learn, even after a year of chicken keeping.

Thanks

C x
It's not the years that age you, it's the weekends!!!

This time of year the boys are not really amorous, they normally wait until they feel sun on their back and their ladies start laying eggies :D

My little fella has just started crowing......poor thing, all the ladies are rejecting his advances!!!! He just wanders round the garden singing little tunes to himself all day!!! He only crows for 5 minutes on a sunny day.....plus he doesn't know it's morning til we let them out as I blacked out the windows!!!
